Fame is a funny thing when you think about it, last year I was a guy with a dream of making a movie and here I am a year later with a movie out on DVD and knee deep in making my second film and now you couple the movie being out on DVD with my front page interview with the local newspaper and my star is starting to rise and people come up to me in some places that I would never expect to be approached .
The secretary at my youngest sons's school came up to me and commented on the interview in the paper, I was approached a few times while on set this past weekend with people asking questions and showing support with well wishes on the movie .
I will be the first person to admit that it's an awesome feeling when someone comes up to me and says "I saw your movie" or gives me a compliment on their favorite scene or character . I often get alot of comments on the Marty Jones character from Rise of Mortis and and I also get asked often "What's going to happen with JJ and Jayson" ?
Marty Jones was based on a mix of Jamie Kennedy's B-Rad character from Malibu's Most Wanted and Scottie P from We're The Millers and he was written to be the annoying character that everyone can't wait to see on the business end of Mortis' knife, as far as JJ and Jayson you'll have to grab a copy of Sins of Man II : Vengeance when it comes out on DVD this Halloween to see what they are up to after the events of Rise of Mortis .

I look at fame as a temporary thing that can last a day, a week, a month, a year, a decade etc. but it won't last forever for all of us, they say everyone gets "15 minutes of fame" and for some that's all they ever get.
I'm gong to enjoy my rise to whatever level of fame I get to, I'm enjoying the little things like being stopped in the grocery store to talk to a fan or being asked to sign someone's movie or their hat, t-shirt etc. it's cool to me to be that important to someone that stopping to talk to them or sign something or take a picture with them makes their day and puts a smile on their face .
I will stay grounded no matter how high my star rising because I know that this can end tomorrow and when or if that happens I will go back to being just another guy and I will look at the walls in my office at all the amazing things I have accomplished and knowing that I made something out of nothing . I took a thought, turned it into an idea which became an outline which magically evolved into a script which lead to production of Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis and the birth of the Sins of Man Trilogy .
Never give up on your dream, you can achieve anything you set your mind to, never let anyone tell you that you're not good enough or that you don't have the talent because you are good enough and you do have the talent . I say it all the time but it's true the best advice I can give a writer / director just starting out is this "Put on some good jeans, a pair of boots and make sure your prepared for everything to be thrown at you because it will be, the trick is to be smart, relentless in the pursuit of your dream and to never quit no matter how hard it gets" .....
STAY HUMBLE, STAY HUNGRY MY FRIENDS :)
