After the events of last weekend I've had alot more time to think then I have in years which isn't a good thing most of the time because I tend to over think things . I've been so busy trying to make Wicked Carnival Productions a reality and launch the Sins of Man trilogy that I don't really over think things I just act because this is a fast paced business and I haven't really had the chance to think about the future and what I would like to see happen .This blog will talk about what the future holds for Wicked Carnival Productions ....

I've had alot of time to think not just about the loss of my brother but about how things are going and how I want them to go, when you lose someone close to you it makes you stop everything on a dime and think about all the things you are "too busy" to think about until life or in this case death comes along an knocks you off course .
When this crazy dream started back in 2013 I thought I could do this with alittle help and motivation in the right direction and I quickly found out that I had no friends in the industry to help me, no equipment to speak of that was of high quality . I didn't know if I could write a compelling story or hell if I could even write a screenplay for that matter . I had written the fan script for Halloween III but nothing to that point where I would consider thinking it to the next level and making a script into a movie until I wrote Wicked Carnival .
I had made a few friends (twitter friends) in the world of writing that were editors and writers themselves so I passed the script for Wicked Carnival to them and they loved it and that was the motivation I needed to try to make this happen so I took the script to another friend who was good with money and he took a loot at the cost to make this movie and came up with a number north of $100,000 dollars which floored me .
Think about this for a minute I had a script that was by all accounts amazing but would cost upwards of $100,000 dollars to make so I was back at square one when one of my friends said "Try crowdfunding to raise money to make a movie" so I looked into a few companies like Kickstarter and Indiegogo and started a campaign and as you might know I became a statistic with my first failed campaign . So I had a great script, no money and a failed crowdfunding campaign which wasn't much to move forward with.
I shelved Wicked Carnival and started writing as much as possible I wrote action scripts and ran into the same issues I did with Wicked Carnival too much great idea and no money . so I started writing (yuck) romantic drama which I enjoy I just never thought I would write these types of films . I wrote a script about a fan meeting and falling in love with his celebrity crush t was a classic boy meets girl, girl falls for girl then boy loses girl and boy will do anything to get girl back .
I knew my heart was in horror and it always has been, I knew I had the mind to write slasher films I just needed a good idea that could work in a low budget / no budget format and if you think about it the possibilities are almost endless with what you can do with very little to work with Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis is proof of that .

Now here we are getting ready to shoot Sins of Man II : Vengeance in ten days after running another unsuccessful campaign on indiegogo.com (I really suck at crowdfunding) we have about $230 dollars to make a feature length slasher movie ... we will work our asses off to make this movie as good as we can with the money we have available to us people will be working for free paying for their own food and travel etc because we failed again to raise money for another project .
It's frustrating at times when you have 100's and even 1,000's of people (on a global scale) telling you that your movie is a good idea and they can't wait to see it but they don't help you make it happen .
1,348 people have visited the campaign page and if every person donated just $5 we would be almost at out goal. I know to some folks $5 is either not enough or too much money but it really can make all the difference in the world when we're here trying to make something to horror fans across the globe . The thing I dislike about crowdfunding is people who are famous, have famous friends and all the connections in the world use it to fund their projects and people like me who are starting from the ground up can't get funding because Rob Zombie (31), Stephen Amell (Code 8), Super Troopers 2 or whom ever is running a campaign and they already have the fame and money to do whatever they want .
Imagine what I could do with 10, 20, 50 or 100 thousand dollars ?? I believe I've talked about it in another blog before but if I could get $100,000 dollars together I wouldn't use it al to make ONE movie I would make FIVE movies with the budget of $20,000 dollars each .
I think some people are confused as to why crowdfunding is the only way we have to raise funds for our projects, I don't have a bunch of friends that will lend me money for a movie, they will give me their time and the use of their home to shoot in but not money . I don't have amazing credit so a bank loan isn't a possibility. I simply need to get enough money together to kick Wicked Carnival Productions off and get the movie finished and keep the company afloat and moving towards the next project and hopefully at some point the money will take care of itself .
The future on one hand looks bright with many projects on the table but oh the other hand the future looks dark with all these projects on the table and no funding to help them get made . I have said that money isn't the only motivation I have for starting Wicked Carnival Productions and making slasher movies but money is needed to make these films happen and EVERY penny that is raised during our campaigns goes towards making the movie . what I would like to do is make enough money from the DVD sales of Sins of Man II : Vengeance to be able to make the next film without having to fully depend on crowdfunding to make it happen .
I guess I don't know what the future holds exactly but then again who does, right ? I know I want to make movies as long as I can and to do that I need help from my friends and family and the amazing fans around the world to make films for you to enjoy .
Chris Fyfe is the best business partner I could ever have asked for he helped me put Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis out on DVD and is helping put Vengeance together and out on DVD this Halloween . I love what I do and will continue to do until I can't do it anymore weather that's due to a lack of ideas or a lack of funding remains to be seen .....
If you would like to DONATE to Sins of Man II : Vengeance you still have SIX DAYS LEFT !! CLick the button, make a donation and pick up a cool perk ! THANK YOU !!
