This are moving very slow on Sins of Man II : Vengeance as we are trying very hard to bring you the BEST finished project possible. there is alot of CGI and special effects involved in the movie that we thought would be easy to accomplish but have proved the most difficult part of the process.

By : Jamie Santamore Founder of Wicked Carnival Productions Writer / Director of Sins of Man Rise of Mortis Writer / Director of Sins of Man II : Vengeance I know news and updates on Sins of Man II : Vengeance has been a little here and alittle there but today I have a HUGE reveal for all of you so without further delay here is a poster fort you to look at and search for clues . What do you see ?? What don't you see ?
I know it's been forever and a day since I gave you fine folks an update on the progress of Sins of Man II : Vengeance but that is because there has been nothing to update you on until now !!
Sins of Man II : Vengeance will be released later this year, hint : Ghosts and Ghouls . There has been alot of unexpected CGI and Special FX issues during post production but Chris has assured me that he's back on track and working countless hours to get it finished for you blood thirsty gore fans :) Pop over to wickedcarnivalproductions.com for an announcement about another projuect coming your way in 2017 !! Stay Humble, Stay Hungry my friends :) By : Jamie Santamore Things have been up in the air for a while as it relates to Sins of Man II : Vengeance and that's my fault . I should be on top of things . I put a release date out to the public before we even started post production on the movie as the writer / director of the project and the founder of Wicked Carnival Productions it falls on my shoulders to hit the release date . I'm going to tell you alittle behind the scenes story a to one of the major reasons we have had delays in post production . When we were in pre production I was doing my duties as location scout when I received a message from someone who had a house that they were willing to allow us to use for a day / night shoot . I jumped at the chance to use the property because it was a cool location . Upon arriving at the house to set up for the shoot Chris and I were informed that the entire location was a "No Blood" zone which meant we couldn't use any blood on the the floors, walls on any actors etc. which had I known about this I wouldn't have booked the location. This meant we were forced to use CGI effects in those sceens . Note : As I'm not a fan of CGI in Slasher movies this is very disappointing to me . I prefer practical effects . Now anyone who knows anything about film making understand that doing CGI takes time and is an art form all it's own . Chris Fyfe is working his ass off to get the CGI perfect in each and every scene it was used in . Toss on top of that struggle many of our team members dealing with "real life" issues during post production and it becomes a mess very quickly . Wicked Carnival Productions and Fyfe Media Company will not release any project until its ready for release and we will not rush to release a project just to hit a release date . I will be more selective with release dates and releasing info in the future . Chris is back on track with post production and is working hard to get things ready ... we are happy to announce that the new release date for Sins of Man II : Vengeance is ............................. Going to be revealed in the trailer for the movie :) I would like to end this blog by saying THANK YOU to all our fans from across the globe, we couldn't to any of this without each and everyone of you. Thank you for your continued support and always having our back through the rough times .
May The Force Be With You, Always . By Jamie Santamore I want to start this blog off by apologizing to my fans across the globe for not keeping this blog up as much as I used to, I've been wicked busy with my weekly Podcast The Maine Morgue as well as trying to get the next few projects ready top go for the new year while that is no excuse for leaving the blog unwritten that's what has been happening over the last few months .
Sins of Man II : Vengeance has been mared with delays in the editing process due to issues with the way scenes were shot and having to get them together as best as possible. We have had some issues with health in our ranks and working through those issues are more important them hitting any release date, I get e-mails every day asking about part two of the trilogy and I have to tell my fans to be patient the movie is coming along nicely. and also that I don't have a release datefor the movie. I've said it a million times and will say it a million more (if I have to) the movie will come out when it's ready and not a day sooner, this is a smart way to do it if you really want the best movie that Wicked Carnival Productions can put out, I mean if you really want an incomplete movie without all the bells and whistles that you expect from a movie these days then we can release the incomplete movie tomorrow and then get slammed with negative comments, inbox messages e-mails etc. but I for one would liek to avoid all that and say that I want to release the BEST movie that we possibly can and make sure that fans get all the things the expect from a Wicked Carnival Productions movie and more so the movie will be released as soon as it's ready to go . You will be able to rent and / or purchase a digital copy of Sins of Man II : Vengeance from ibleedindie.com just like you can rent and / or purchase Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis . If you live in the United States you can order a DVD copy of Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis from bullmoose.com as well . We work hard to bring you horror movies to enjoy, comment on, review ect. but sometimes things happen that are more pressing then hitting a release date someone on our teams health is more important to us then hitting a release date and it will always be that way . Indie film making is a TEAM EFFORT, the writer can't do it with out a production company, who can't do it without a director, who can't make a movie with out a cast, who can't shoot a movie without a cameraman etc. Evveryone involved with Wicked Carnival Productions is a member of our TEAM and when one team member has things happening behind the scenes it effects all of us . Another thing I will never get tired of repeating is that none of this would be possible without CHRIS FYFE, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but I'm smart enough to know that with out him helping me from day one I wouldn't have been able to make Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis . Without his guidence and his skill set he brough to the project. I'm not insulting my talents, it's the simple truth . Sure I wrote the screenplay for the movie and took over a major role after he had our first of many major problems with the project but Chris was the glue that kept it all together his decades in the entertainment business helped me in so many ways that I can't explain, he taught me to be a better writer, director and actor and I hope if he reads this he knows how much his help means to me, we have become friends during all of this and I love Chris like he's family sort of a father figure in many ways . The same can be said with Sins of Man II : Vengeance Chris (and myself to a bigger degree this time around) was the driving force, he helped me direct the movie in a different way that I did Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis and that's why he is getting Co Director Credit on part II and is being given the role of director for Sins of Man III : Tribulation . I will get back into the director chair when the time is right but I want to focus on my acting in Part three as I play a much larger role in the closing chapter of the Sins of Man trilogy . I'm working hard to get the script right without a dozen rewrites but I will write this script a hundred times if I have to in order to deliver the best script for my cast to make the best movie possible to bring to the Sins of Man fans and horror fans in general . Another thing that I need to stress is that Sins of Man II : Vengeance required ALOT of CGI for blood and all that fun stuff due to some of our locations having a "no blood" rule that when we made the agreement to use the property we were unaware of the "No blood rule" until the day / night we decided to shoot there so after we learned that harsh lesson we have decided that all the blood and gore stuff will be done using practical effects when ever possible and the locations we select in the future will have to be blood friendly . We also had alot of studio work that went into the movie as well which was my fault as the writer I had way too much phone conversations in the script, I fixed this when I did the recent rewrite of Sins of Man III : Tribulation which is written with maybe another rewrite / edit left to go . I think fans will have alot of questions answered at the end of the trilogy that have been left open for you to think about through out the first two movies. In closing I want the people who read this blog to understand that Wicked Carnival Productions wants to hit our release date on EVERY project but sometimes forces outside of our control take over the process and we have to push the date, it's never done just to screw with the fans . Sins of Man II : Vengeance will be released as soon as we get the movie right with all the scary music, CGI and Special FX right . Stay Humble, Stay Hungry My Friends :) By Jamie Santamore A often say that I understand the concept of being a "starving artist" because I am one and that is true, I have eaten nothing but boxed Mac and cheese, pasta and sauce and roman noodles for weeks at at time to be able to pour every penny I can scrap up into my latest project and being a diabetic these foods are high in carbs and carbs turn to sugar and that is a very bad thing . To pile more on top of an already bad situation I'm also a vegetarian so vegetarian options for food are not only limited but expensive .
When I'm on set during filming I almost never have money for food and have to rely on Chris buying me lunch or dinner and sometimes both (which I'm very thankful for) many times, cast members have bought me snacks and brought me food from their house to make sure I eat well on set not only do I have to eat regularly because of the diabetes but I've noticed that I get hangry if I don't eat on set. (hangry is a combination of hungry and angry) I bring sugar free snacks when ever possible but that's not always easy to do with little to no money . I recently gave up all forms of pasta completely in an effort to get my A1C (blood sugar) under control so the starving artist deal has become even more of an issue in my day to day life . Before I go any further with this blog I want people to understand that this isn't me complaining about being a starving artist this is about me explaining to all of you what happens behind the scenes here at Wicked Carnival Productions . Now the little rewards of being a starving artist are hard to see from the outside looking in but I want explain what I think are the rewards of starving myself for my art. I really enjoy film making and all that going into it, all the fun, all the late nights, early days, long drives, all the meal breaks when the cast becomes friends over the course of a shoot, all the last minute changes that happen on set when we pull something out of our ass to save a scene or create something that wasn't ever in the script to begin with in an effort to make the movie better (we did this with Sins of Man II : Vengeance) These are things that make the personal sacrifice of not buying great food options worth it in the end, sure I could spend $100's of dollars on vegetarian foods and be healthier but them my movie career would've never started . I'm working on getting the health back in order and getting in better shape because there is no point in the sacrifice if you have nothing to show for it, right ? My movies are my legacy that IO will leave on the world along with my three amazing children and I want them to have a library of dad's movies to watch after I'm long gone so they can always see their dad . My hope is that someday if I keep making these sacrifices and I continue to make quality films that the money will eventually take care of itself and I will no longer be a starving artist, makes sense right ? Another way you can look at it is this is a situation of Risk VS Reward, the risk of me eating cheaper food to be able to put more of my own money into my movies is worth the reward of being able to release my movies . If the risks outweigh the rewards then I wouldn't take the risk . I try not to take alot of chances when it comes to my health but risks are a part of what I do with Wicked Carnival Productions and I know that and understand that these risks are all calculated and will hopefully work out in the end . STAY HUMBLE, STAY HUNGRY MY FRIENDS :) By : Jamie Santamore Sins of Man II : Vengeance WILL NOT be released this Sunday due to an issue with the editing process, we have hit a snag and need to correct it before we can finish the movie.
I apologize to our worldwide fan base as I know there are many of you who have been waiting to see what MOrtis does next, you'll have to wait alittle while longer, I'm sorry but we want to put out the best product possible and will not release the movie until it's ready . By : Jamie Santamore Things have been crazy since April when the journey of Sins of Man II : Vengeance started, we had casting issues, script issues, directing issues (that's on me)and just anything that could go wrong will go wrong and it's up to Chris and I to figure out how to fix it and make it all work as quickly as possible.
As you all know by now we had to push back the release date to Sunday November 27th so Chris can do his magic and make the movie as awesome as it can be . I have received alot of emails about the delay and most of them are nice and just want to know what's happening and there there a re a few not so nice ones who say things like"you delayed your movie, your career is doomed" or "You will lose your fan base because if this" and one of my favorites is "You delayed the release and now you'll NEVER get the movie released" . First of all I don't use the word never very often because never is such an ugly word . and let me ask you this would you rather have a sub par movie with sub par effects, poorly used Green Screen etc. that you can trash on the internet or would you rather have a movie with great special effects Awesome Green Screen and Cool CGI that you can say to your friends "Dude you gotta see this movie !" Personally I would go with the second option and that is the reason Sins of Man II : Vengeance had to be pushed back so we can give you the best slasher movie possible . Now alittle bit on Sins of Man III : Tribulations (Set to start shooting in Late April or Early May 2017) I will not be directing the film as I have handed the directing duties to Chris Fyfe because he has a great mid for these things and I will be there to help him if he has any questions about how it should look for a horror movie. I've written what I hope will be the final draft of the script ( I wrote it the week after we wrapped Sins of Man II because I was so excited to get it going) . I think this story is going to wrap up great and you will see an improvement from Sins of Man II to the finale of the trilogy in Sins of Man III . Now to talk about the million dollar question . What coming next from Wicked Carnival Productions in 2018 and the short answer is I have no idea, I have several scripts ready to shoot, I'm working on the Sy Fy script currently as well as another slasher movie both of those are half way written. I have a 10 part web series written as well as Wicked Carnival that has been written for three years and sitting on the shelf collecting dust and I also have a short film ready to go . So it's not easy to say what we'll do in 2018 but we will release something for sure, I will be meeting with Chris soon to discuss this among other topics and I'll keep you all posted . Stay Humble, Stay Hungry My Friends :) When I first started this website I wrote an open letter to horror fans about what the movie was going to be about and who I was as a writer / director and I wanted to write another open letter to tell you all what's new and different but also what's staying the same as we move towards the completion of the Sins of Man trilogy next fall . By : Jamie Santamore Dear Horror Fans,
It's been three years since I launched Wicked Carnival Productions and two years since I started working on Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis as you all know we finished shooting Sins of Man II : Vengeance in July and are releasing it shortly. So much has changed in the last three years and yet it's all very much the same in many ways also, I'm a more confident writer, I'm working on becoming a better actor and makeup artist while struggling with directing of the films. but that is par for the course because I can't excel at everything all at once and that is something over the course of the last several months that I have come to terms with and the main reason I stepped down as director for Sins of Man III : Tribulation . I have never received a negative comment from fans about the movie itself which I think is awesome but really not a good indicator of success to the masses because a limited number of fans have had the chance to see my movie. With the launch of ibleedindie.com from John Lepper and the folks at www.theblood-shed.com the entire world can now see Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis and will now be able to judge the film which is something that I look at in a positive way because it helps me grow as an artist when I hear people talking about dwhat they like and dislike in movies . I'm still learning so much about film making, I'm still making connections with people and always willing to help anyone I can in the industry weather it's giving them their chance to star in a movie or helping them gain the confidence to go out and chase their own dreams . I want to give fans what they want to see but I also want the freedom to do what I want to do in terms of the style of writing and storytelling without having to over explain it to people . I feel that indie films while we are able to push the limits further then a big studio because there is less red tape and more freedom to be creative we also should have the right to make a "classic" horror movie if that's what we choose to make. I made Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis as a "Classic Hollywood Style" Slasher film because that's what I wanted to make and as an indie film maker I believe that's my choice. Someone said my movie would be better suited for Hollywood and to this I said "Well then why doesn't Hollywood buy the script and make the movie then or pay me to make the movie ??" I'm learning there are alot of things that I don't know about film making and no one knows it all because the industry changes at a fast pace but I know enough right now to know that I can make movies because I've done it TWICE . Are they going to win any awards ? Who knows . I've not entered them into festivals or anything like that so far, I'm working to perfect my craft before I take that leap of faith but I'm releasing my work to the world because I fell I'm talented as a writer to write good stories that people can care about the characters and want to see the film and the characters develop throughout . People often ask me if I could work on someone else's project as an actor or writer and I really don't think I would want to write someone else's movie for them as far as acting goes maybe but I don't want to pursue acting at this time so probably not . What fans need to know is the role of Victor Barclay that I played in Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis was originally only supposed to be a one scene cameo but due to someone dropping out of the movie after we started production for reason beyond their control the character went through a complete rewrite and changes were made to make Victor a major player in the overall story and rather then reshooting the scenes to use a different actor I just kept the role and did the movie and now that we've shot Sins of Man II : Vengeance and I got to play Victor one more time, I've been able to see Victor grow and change as a character, I played him almost as two different people from Rise of Mortis to Vengeance and in Tribulation I think fans will see his character come full circle which I'm very excited to see how Victor is received by fans after the trilogy is complete . In closing I would like to say THANK YOU to my fans who have supported me, The Sins of Man trilogy and Wicked Carnival Productions for the last 3 years and for your continued support as we move forward into the future. We have some pretty cool things coming up with a Web Series, Short film and a SyFy feature and several more slashers all on deck . Stay tuned and remember Stay Humble, Stay Hungry my friends :) Disclaimer : The thoughts and opinions expressed in this blog are those of Jamie Santamore and do not reflect the opinions of anyone else at Wicked Carnival Productions . By : Jamie Santamore Sequels are one of the things that interest me about film making and they interest me for many reasons. While they are important for continuing a story I think if you have too many sequels to a film the films, it's characters and it's story become overdone and simply don't work anymore .
This is what happened with 80's slasher movie franchises like Halloween, Friday The 13th and Especially A Nightmare On Elm Street . This week I spoke about the genius of Halloween II and Friday the 13th part 2 which both came out in 1981 on my Podcast The Maine Morgue . I think they are a shining example of what a Slasher sequel should be because they follow the story of the original film very closely which is very important because after all a sequel is a continuation of the original story, right ? Now All of the franchises that I've mentioned in this blog have seen their fair share of bad installments Halloween has Part III : Season of the witch and goes off the rails again with Resurrection, Friday The 13th has Part V : A New Beginning and Jason Goes To Hell A Nightmare On Elm Street has Freddy's Revenge, The Dream Child and Freddy's Dead The Final Nightmare . I'm not saying they are all bad films but saying that these films in my opinion weren't what they could've been . Looking back on it now I really think that Friday The 13th is the best put together franchise in the slasher genre . I think in many ways Friday The 13th is my favorite franchise over all because the story doesn't have alot of major changes to it unlike A Nightmare on Elm Street which went off the rails after the first film with Freddy become more funny then scary and that's not what I watch horror movies for, do I laugh at the movies ? of course I do but I'd rather be scared then laughing through an entire slasher movie . Now don't flood my e-mail with hate mail because I said Friday The 13th is my favorite franchise overall because Halloween is still my favorite movie of all time in any genre . I think alot of mistakes were made in the Halloween franchise that ultimately led to it's downfall, I'm not saying Friday The 13th is a perfect because it's not in fact it's far from it but they made mistakes and learned from them and continued on, there has to be a reason it's the franchise that has the most installments in it, right ? Halloween didn't make as many mistakes as A Nightmare On Elm Street did because if you watch the Halloween franchise in the correct order then the story makes alot more sense, I've talked about this before but I'll talk about it again, watch The Halloween franchise in this order . Halloween, Halloween II, H20 (This is a perfect trilogy) Resurrection can be added if you want to see the end of the Michael / Laurie storyline, I don't usually watch that movie . Halloween 4, 5, & 6 (this is what I call the Jaime Lloyd trilogy) You can skip Resurrection and Season of the witch because they aren't really a part of these two trilogies . I'm telling you if you watch the movies in this order and you will look at the franchise very differently . A Nightmare On Elm Street really only took the first film seriously and then went too far down the comedy road and really didn't recover until A New Nightmare . Part 2 Freddy's Revenge was good but there was way too much humor in spots and they just left Nancy hanging from the original film, I mean sure they mentioned that she went crazy to explain why she wasn't in the movie only to have her comeback and be killed off in Part 3 which was a great movie (My wife's favorite other then the original) Parts 4 - 6 were just a series of jokes that really killed the franchise for me atleast . Friday The 13th really only has one snag that being Jason Goes To Hell : The Final Friday . I can handle the no Jason in part V : A New Beginning alot easier then the body swapping horseshit they fed us in JGTH . When I was writing the script for Sins of Man very early in the process I thought that I would make it a stand alone or one off film with no plans to do a sequel but then I thought about the ways I could write a sequel to make it a two part story and then during the writing of the sequel I thought I could make it a trilogy so I wrote the three scripts (The first drafts anyway) and decided then and their I would not even write notes for a possible Sins of Man IV because I don't think I will ever make Sins of Man IV not because I couldn't but because I think the trilogy is enough . I have said that I would write a part IV if it were the first part of another trilogy . I don't want to keep going back to Sins of Man when I have so many other ideas that I want to put out there . Sequels for me from a company stand point will be something we think about before we green light a bunch of them and water down the franchises with films that don't make sense to the original concept .
