Here I am in my office with no real project to work on per say so I thought I would blog about some of the things that bounce around my head and try to give my thoughts on each one, if I can.
What if all the studios that own the horror icons came together and made an Avenger's type movie , how fuckin' awesome could that be for fans ??
This would be cool in alot of ways and could work if done right, would they be fighting each other or teaming together ?
Who would win in a battle between Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees ? Could a movie with two silent killers actually work?
This would be difficult to pull off because I think there needs to be some dialog between them to build tension, maybe not, I think the movie would be a dream match for Horror fans in general and of course for Halloween and Friday The 13th fans, IMO Michael "wins" the fight but as we all know Jason comes back to life in the end.
Why would a studio open a movie opposite Star Wars VII ? Is that a smart move because it's a different audience? We all know Star Wars will win the Box Office that weekend and probably make $150 - $200 Million, right?
I think it's a case of a different audience and the other studios KNOW they won't win the weekend and simply want a piece of the pie.
Why did I put Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis out on Halloween when a bunch of horror films were released on DVD ?
I had always had Halloween as the release date because why not release a horror movie on the scariest day of the year, right? I didn't care that other film makers were releasing their movies on Halloween, I will look into other times of the year to release the next movie. we were TIED for THIRD on the Local Artists list for Sales at Bull Moose Music for the week of Thanksgiving so something went well :)
Do I want more character development or more blood and guts to be the main focus in Sins of Man II ?
This is something I struggled with when I started working on the latest draft of the script, because while I know horror movies don't really care about character development much, I want to make a different kind of sequel where people care about the returning characters as well as the new characters.
Will fans expect a higher body count in addition to more blood shed?
I can't really say for sure but I think most fans want a mix of characters that they love and hate as well as more bodies and blood shed as a result f the higher body count, I took all of that into consideration when I was writing the latest draft of Sins of Man II :)
STAY TUNED & STAY WICKED :)
