When I first started this website I wrote an open letter to horror fans about what the movie was going to be about and who I was as a writer / director and I wanted to write another open letter to tell you all what's new and different but also what's staying the same as we move towards the completion of the Sins of Man trilogy next fall .

Dear Horror Fans,
It's been three years since I launched Wicked Carnival Productions and two years since I started working on Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis as you all know we finished shooting Sins of Man II : Vengeance in July and are releasing it shortly.
So much has changed in the last three years and yet it's all very much the same in many ways also, I'm a more confident writer, I'm working on becoming a better actor and makeup artist while struggling with directing of the films. but that is par for the course because I can't excel at everything all at once and that is something over the course of the last several months that I have come to terms with and the main reason I stepped down as director for Sins of Man III : Tribulation .
I have never received a negative comment from fans about the movie itself which I think is awesome but really not a good indicator of success to the masses because a limited number of fans have had the chance to see my movie.
With the launch of ibleedindie.com from John Lepper and the folks at www.theblood-shed.com the entire world can now see Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis and will now be able to judge the film which is something that I look at in a positive way because it helps me grow as an artist when I hear people talking about dwhat they like and dislike in movies .
I'm still learning so much about film making, I'm still making connections with people and always willing to help anyone I can in the industry weather it's giving them their chance to star in a movie or helping them gain the confidence to go out and chase their own dreams .
I want to give fans what they want to see but I also want the freedom to do what I want to do in terms of the style of writing and storytelling without having to over explain it to people . I feel that indie films while we are able to push the limits further then a big studio because there is less red tape and more freedom to be creative we also should have the right to make a "classic" horror movie if that's what we choose to make.
I made Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis as a "Classic Hollywood Style" Slasher film because that's what I wanted to make and as an indie film maker I believe that's my choice. Someone said my movie would be better suited for Hollywood and to this I said "Well then why doesn't Hollywood buy the script and make the movie then or pay me to make the movie ??"
I'm learning there are alot of things that I don't know about film making and no one knows it all because the industry changes at a fast pace but I know enough right now to know that I can make movies because I've done it TWICE . Are they going to win any awards ? Who knows . I've not entered them into festivals or anything like that so far, I'm working to perfect my craft before I take that leap of faith but I'm releasing my work to the world because I fell I'm talented as a writer to write good stories that people can care about the characters and want to see the film and the characters develop throughout .
People often ask me if I could work on someone else's project as an actor or writer and I really don't think I would want to write someone else's movie for them as far as acting goes maybe but I don't want to pursue acting at this time so probably not .
What fans need to know is the role of Victor Barclay that I played in Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis was originally only supposed to be a one scene cameo but due to someone dropping out of the movie after we started production for reason beyond their control the character went through a complete rewrite and changes were made to make Victor a major player in the overall story and rather then reshooting the scenes to use a different actor I just kept the role and did the movie and now that we've shot Sins of Man II : Vengeance and I got to play Victor one more time, I've been able to see Victor grow and change as a character, I played him almost as two different people from Rise of Mortis to Vengeance and in Tribulation I think fans will see his character come full circle which I'm very excited to see how Victor is received by fans after the trilogy is complete .
In closing I would like to say THANK YOU to my fans who have supported me, The Sins of Man trilogy and Wicked Carnival Productions for the last 3 years and for your continued support as we move forward into the future. We have some pretty cool things coming up with a Web Series, Short film and a SyFy feature and several more slashers all on deck . Stay tuned and remember Stay Humble, Stay Hungry my friends :)
